Introducing the MTX-R, a super tough, rugged, high-performance regulator built for any diving adventure. Inspired by the MTX military regulator, the MTX-R excels in cold water performance and significantly reduces the risk of free flow. This has been achieved through several enhancements, including an innovative endcap solution that prevents first stage freeze-up, a long-standing issue for cold-water divers.
Designed to meet the NEDU (Navy Experimental Dive Unit) military requirements for very cold water diving, the MTX-R is highly reliable and easy to service in the field. It features a unique over-balanced diaphragm design that provides superior performance at depth, a compact environmentally dry-sealed diaphragm system, and an innovative over-molded first-stage endcap and environmental diaphragm to prevent ice build-up and protect against impact damage.
The second stage regulator, attached to a double swivel hose, offers greater freedom of movement and comfort. Nitrox/Oxygen compatible up to 40% O2, it is simple to use with no dive adjustment controls and a reduced chance of free flow. The reversible second stage allows for left or right-hand gas supply configuration, and the patented heat exchanger dissipates cold while drawing in ambient water warmth.
The MTX-R features a diver changeable exhaust system (DCE), allowing the switch between a small and large exhaust tee. It comes with a Comfo-Bite mouthpiece, a flexible nylon braided hose for improved cold water performance, and a simple service kit. Weighing 2.95 lbs.
